About I/O Performance, Inc.

IOPerformance was incorporated in May of 2000 when I left the University of Minnesota to pursue work on a more independent level. It is simply a two person company owned and operated by myself and my wife.

Focus

I currently focus on helping organizations identify, analyze, and solve I/O performance problems with large-scale data storage systems. My principle market space is in the high-performance/high-end computing (HPC/HEC) segments with particular attention to government and academic research institutions. Clearance levels given upon request.

IOPerformance, Inc, is also the home to XDD as I am the principle author.

XDD

XDD was originally written in 1994 as a untility to provide accurate and detailed measurements of disk I/O performance. It has since grown in size and utility and is currently the storage performance tool of choice for several U.S. Government agencies. Code development is supported in part by the Oak Ridge National Labs (ORNL) Extreme Scale System Center (ESSC), the U.S. Department of Energy (DoE), and the U.S. Department of Defense.
